The Problem
Amtech Medical sells consumable products to general practices, physiotherapists, and dentists. With thousands of small, data-sensitive items in its catalogue, accurate and efficient online ordering had become a critical requirement. As more customers shifted towards web-based purchasing, Amtech needed a system that could manage this demand without adding manual labour or risking data errors.

Initially, Amtech used an older ERP system (IMpower) that wasn’t built to integrate easily with modern eCommerce platforms. Managing stock, pricing, and product information required duplicate data entry, and the lack of automation made order handling inefficient. With a move to new platforms on the horizon, the business needed an integration partner that could support a multi-phase transition.

The Solution
Convergence worked closely with Amtech to understand the operational detail and complexity of the business. The team created tailored integrations at every stage. These integrations allowed for real-time updates between the ERP and website, with six to seven automated uploads a day ensuring customers always saw the correct data.

Why Convergence?
Amtech values Convergence’s depth of understanding, responsiveness, and hands-on support. Jeremy Anderson, Amtech’s director, credits Convergence with providing continuity and technical expertise throughout multiple platform changes. He notes that being able to speak directly with Mark Presnell, Convergence’s Managing Director, has made the relationship collaborative and solutions-focused.

The Outcome
Integration has become a core part of Amtech’s operations. The business has avoided the cost and inefficiency of manual data entry — an approach that, if scaled over a year, would have cost more than $100,000 in labour.

Instead, the company now runs a leaner, more responsive system that meets the needs of a data-intensive, time-sensitive industry. Integration is no longer a nice-to-have. It’s a fundamental part of how Amtech operates.
